About us

Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.
As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.

The La Place Rotary club is a group of community leaders from St. John the Baptist Parish Louisiana who work to support Rotary International and the many worthy causes in our local community. In 2009 we held our first Pups In The Park on 51 event as a way to raise funds to support the local club and animal rescue organizations and other causes in our community. In addition to supporting the many needs in our community, the event offered dog lovers a way to experience the camaraderie of like-minded people (and dogs!) while having fun and getting some exercise! While there have been other dog walks and similar events in surrounding parishes, we felt it was important that we have one focused on St. John the Baptist parish utilizing the beautiful parish park on US 51.

Our event is supported by our many sponsors, so please visit out sponsor page and frequent their businesses when possible as a way of saying “thanks”.
